When the homeowner purchased this Mount Pleasant home twenty years ago, the home sold for a great price. Although the homeowner was pleased to be in a booming area, he wanted to update his outdated floor plan. Referred by the home’s architect Kevin Hoertdoerfer, Diament Building Corp. conducted a cost analysis and found that renovating the existing home would be more cost-effective than starting from scratch.
Evan Diament, owner and lead builder of Diament Building Corp, explains, “The home had good bones and is located in a great area, but it needed renovations.” The team completely stripped the interior and reconfigured the floor plan, removing the second floor’s flooring in the process.
In the kitchen, a large island seats five people. The granite countertops flow seamlessly up the wall, creating a sleek backsplash behind the plaster hood. Mount Pleasant Kitchen and Bath designed and installed slow-closing dark white oak stained cabinetry, giving the space a more masculine edge.
The dining room flows effortlessly into the living area and kitchen with a robust design by Amy Trowman of Amy Trowman Designs. The ceiling features white oak, juxtaposing the stark white walls.
On the second floor, the custom home builder raised the floors by six inches to heighten the first-floor ceiling. The homeowner’s son enjoys a spacious living area, a kitchenette with paneled appliances, and a stovetop. A barn-style shiplap door, sourced by Evan from Marvin, cleverly hides the bedroom while complementing the modern design.
The master bedroom showcases a striking shiplap ceiling and 7.5-inch white oak floors with a natural finish. Evan crafted custom built-ins with a slow-to-close finish. Dual walk-in closets enhance the master bath, along with a luxurious shower featuring large-format tiles and a sleek, curbless design.
Diament Building Corp. gave the exterior a dramatic makeover. They painted the brick white, added a new front porch, and completely revamped the landscape.
