Story by Micaela Arnett / May 13, 2025
Textiles tell stories, weaving together history, culture, and personal experience threads. Debby Gomulka of Provenance Lee Interiors captures this storytelling spirit in her latest Marrakech Textile Collection. Celebrating heritage, craftsmanship, and sustainable design, this collection reflects Debby’s passion for interiors and commitment to eco-luxury living.
Her fashion and interior design background inspires the Marrakech Textile Collection. Her keen eye for blending form and function, texture and tone led her to create pieces that honor aesthetics and sustainability. When a favorite client shared stories of childhood travels to Marrakech, Debby became captivated by Moroccan culture’s vibrant patterns, rich colors, and intricate craftsmanship. This inspiration shines through in every piece. Dr. Henry Boyter, Jr., CESTAB, head of sustainability at NCSU College of Textiles, applauds Debby’s commitment to eco-luxury. “Her collections make desirable textiles while reducing environmental impacts through thoughtful fiber and chemical choices,” he says.
Debby produces the Marrakech Textile Collection locally in South Carolina, collaborating with the historic Baxter Mill Archive. Once abandoned, this textile mill now thrives, creating high-quality, eco-conscious fabrics. This partnership supports local craftsmanship while minimizing the collection’s carbon footprint through responsible fiber choices and reduced transportation emissions. The collection includes home goods and fashion scarves, designed to reflect Moroccan style while meeting modern sustainability standards. The upcoming Fall 2025 release will introduce nine eco-savvy colorways, blending timeless tradition with forward-thinking design.
Provenance Lee Interiors will host an exclusive fashion show to celebrate the fall collection’s launch. The event will feature pieces from the archives of Frank Cassata, a renowned Manhattan designer known for historic, vintage-inspired creations. This showcase will highlight the Marrakech Textile Collection’s versatility, bridging the gap between classic fashion influences and contemporary textile design. Debby approaches each design project as a collaborative effort, working closely with clients, architects, and craft artisans to realize personalized visions. From concept to completion, her work spans interior design, architectural additions, custom window treatments, and one-of-a-kind furnishings.
For Debby, eco-luxury isn’t just a trend, it’s a lifestyle that balances comfort, quality, and conscientious design. By blending contemporary and traditional elements, the Marrakech Textile Collection exemplifies the power of thoughtful design. It stands as a testament to tradition while embracing a sustainable future. See Debby’s sample inspiration from the historic archives below.
